If you are receiving the following error when trying to run SyncToy 1.4 on Vista x64:
Problem signature:

Problem Signature 01: synctoy.exe
Problem Signature 02: 1.4.0.0

Then here is a fix:
- Install Microsoft Net Monitor 3.0.
- Copy the custsat.dll file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Network Monitor 3.0\ (or wherever your Net Monitor installation is located).
- Paste the file into C:\Users\YourLoginName\AppData\Local\SyncToy\ (or wherever your SyncToy installation is located).
That’s it! Happy Syncing.

Works like a charm, thanks a lot!!! 🙂
Thanks, sync toy now works in Vista x64, when I replaced the cutsat.dll file.
Excellent program, I can’t believe that Microsoft did such a poor job testing it in x64.
Thank you for showing the world how to correct yet another of Microsoft’s mistakes.
Happily reporting that the NetMon 3.1 custsat.dll fixes the issue on XP SP2 X64 as well.
I used the X64 version of NetMon, available at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=18b1d59d-f4d8-4213-8d17-2f6dde7d7aac&displaylang=en
As an FYI – Default location of the file being replaced is:
C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\SyncToy
Tested and working on Server 2003 x64 as well.
Thanks man.
Great – Using it with Win XP Pro and now with Vista Ultimate. Great tool and a great fix.
very interesting, but I don’t agree with you

Works if you want to sync with a local drive, but it still crashes when you try to sync to a network location. Never had this problem when I ran 32bit Vista.
